This is a selective guidebook covering the best trad climbing, sport climbing and bouldering in Yorkshire (grit and limestone), Northumberland, Lancashire, and the North York Moors.  This Northern Rock guidebook details 18 crags in Northumberland, 5 crags in the North York Moors, 19 limestone crags in Yorkshire, 10 gritstone crags in Yorkshire, and 15 crags in Lancashire (both limestone and gritstone).

In total this Northern England guidebook details over 3,500 trad routes, sport routes, and boulder problems.  All the routes and boulder problems are shown on colour photo topos along with a description.

For each crag there is a brief description of the type of climbing to be found, along with a detailed accurate location map, GPS co-ordinates for the parking area, and access information.
